Sapele Desk, Drawers and Shelving
This project was to create a solid Sapele desk for a home office in Reigate. The customer loved the look and feel of real wood, especially exotic hardwoods like Sapele and Iroko. The goal of this project was to really let the Sapele sing. We made sure to include lovely details like proper frame and panel drawer fronts and finger jointed drawers.
Above the desk sits adjustable shelving and a raised wall mounted bookshelf, supported by two moulded corbels. These both have panelled backs. Below the desk is a concealed panel which can be removed for access to plug sockets and cable organisation. The 3 metre wide solid Sapele top was scribed into the wall for a beautiful flush finish.
