Pair of Grand Fitted Wardrobes
This project was to create a pair of highly detailed and ornate fitted wardrobes. The room already had lots of large scale detailing, like the heavy cornice and the marble fireplace. The wardrobes had to be very shallow in depth not to clash with the window architrave and they were also very limited on width by the mantelpiece.
Each side had a trio of drawers made from solid pine, a tall clothing rail and then a top shelf. These were then finished in 'Strong White’ by Farrow and Ball. The room gets a lot of natural light, so all of the detailing especially the fluted columnns create beautiful shadows across the face of the wardrobes.
