Bathroom Vanity Unit

For this project, the client wanted us to create a ‘floating’ vanity unit to sit below a pre-existing sink in the bathroom. This was quite a challenging proposition as we had to create a design which worked around the sink’s existing plumbing, and was able to take a relatively large amount of weight, while still appearing to float. The client wanted to use the drawer here as a discreet laundry basket.

The sink itself wasn’t exactly square and didn’t hang off the wall perfectly either, so making everything look seamless and intentional was a challenge. To ensure that the unit was robust enough for any weight that might go into the drawer, we added an adjustable cabinet leg below the unit. Due to the eye-line as one approaches the bathroom, we were still able to create the ‘floating’ look, even with this cabinet leg.
